Which Am I?

A strong horse-shoe magnet may be held over an old rust-eaten, shapeless nail without meeting any response. A bright, ringing nail will leap to the magnet, attract another, and through it draw yet another until several are attracted.

That is how Christians are. A really genuine, active, shining Christian has a tremendous attraction to Christ, is magnetized by His love and purity, attracted by His power. And through that Christian, Christ can draw others to Him to share that same power and attraction.

But a rusty, unpolished, corroded Christian, cranky, defiled and selfish, has very little attraction, and through Him the power of Christ to win the world cannot flow.

God has enough power to wipe out every vice and every evil doctrine in this world, but first of all, there must be conductors. And rusty, untaught, unprepared, and unpracticed church members neither draw others near to God nor are drawn near themselves.

Our religion must be intensive before it can be extensive.

Their leaders want it, Their members want it.
Their hearts long to see it.

From the pen of John Hobbs:

WHAT'S GOING ON AT NINTH & MAIN?

Ninth and Main is in the process of putting in elders and deacons. We all need to pray constantly and intently that God's will be done. On Sundays March 30 and April 6, I will present lessons on the qualifications of elders. As I have said before, I believe that God is more concerned about men meeting the qualifications than the selection process.

I am in the process of selling my house in Abilene and moving to San Angelo. I am asking you to pray that I can sell my house and move this summer as soon as possible.

Branyon and Alana are getting married this May. Lance and Crystal are getting married in June. We need to pray for these young couples as they start a new life together.

We have several members who are seriously ill and need our prayers: Luci Vinson, Betty Walden, Don Hindsley and Peggy Curtis.

Our visitation and Bible Correspondence programs are still in operation. If you would like to become involved, please contact me.

Our next potluck fellowship meal is Sunday, April 5 immediately after the morning services. Please put this date on your calendar and invite someone to come too.We use this fellowship meal as an evangelistic to reach out to visitors and non-members.

In Christian Love,
John Hobbs

Ed. Note: This time only, instead of having a men's business meeting following potluck, we will have a teacher's meeting. All teachers and potential teachers are urged to attend.
