On The Wings Of Prayer

Just Close your eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.

Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let Him hold you secure in His love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved.

But God only asks us to do our best,
Then He will take over and do the rest.

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you.

And that is the door to the House of Prayer,
And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.

And the House of Prayer is no further away,
Than the quiet spot where you kneel to pray.

For the heart is a temple when God is there,
As we place ourselves in His loving care.

And He hears every prayer and answers each one,
When we pray in His name, Thy will be done.

The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear,
Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.

The Apostle Paul said, "Examine yourselves" (II Cor. 13:5). This is something we must do individually and collectively as a congregation.

There is an old saying, "there is no sin in being small; the sin in not trying to grow." I agree. We cannot make people become Christians. We cannot make people come to services. We cannot make people see the truth in scripture. But, we can encourage people. We can invite people. We can live a Godly life. We need to remember that God is going to hold us accountable for what we could have done and didn't do!

I hope that every member of the congregation will come to our leadership dinner on Feb. 1, 2003 at 5:00 P.M. We want you. This is your chance to have input into the direction of the church. We will provide a dinner for everyone, have a guest speaker, and then have our input. Please make plans to come.

Anyone needing a ride let us know. We will gladly give you a ride to and from the building. Just let us know.

In Christian Love,
John Hobbs
