Our Thanks to Larry Fluitt for leading our song service on Sunday. Great job. Glynn Langston's latest newsletter is posted on the bulletin board. Thank You notes have been received from the three Children's homes for our November support. If you haven't already done so, you should take a look at our newly remodeled fellowship hall! |

How Do You Define Sin? (Part Two) In Jeremiah 2:35 Jeremiah records the words of the nation of Judah. Here Judah says "Because I am innocent surely His anger shall turn from me." And, "I have not sinned." Notice Judah declared herself "innocent" and defiantly said, "I have not sinned." But the bottom line is, she was not innocent and had sinned. The problem was she could not recognize her sin. In Jeremiah 8:6 God says, "I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness saying, What have I done?" with the implied answer: Nothing wrong or sinful. Again, Judah's problem was she could not recognize sin. Because Judah would not recognize her sin, she was not going to repent. Because she was not going to repent, God was going to punish and chastise her. This He did in 586 B.C. when the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and killed many Jews and took many others into captivity. This is a great history lesson for us (Rom. 15:4; I Cor. 10:6,11). If we refuse to recognize sin in our lives we will not repent. If we do not repent we will lose our souls. (Luke 13:3) Let us all be open to the possibility that something might be amiss in our lives. Let us examine ourselves a Paul told us to do. (II Cor. 13:5). On judgment Day it will be too late to repent and make changes. Someday soon I will preach a lesson on the subject of repentance. May God bless you. In Christian Love,
