Fellowship Room
Work has begun on remodeling and
enlarging our fellowship room. This will give us a great
deal of additional space so when we have a meal, we will
not have to "step over" each other. |
Thank You
"During a time like this we
realize how much our family and friends mean to us. --------------------------------------
"Thank You" notes have been
received from Cherokee, Medina and New Mexico Children's
homes for our October support. |
My mind at the Lord's table, goes back over two thousand years to the death of Christ. It never dawned on me that the order of the worship had anything to do with the solemnity of the Lord's supper. For over thirty years I have visited the graves of my mother and father. I need no artificial means to stir memories at the grave side. It makes no difference which gate I enter the cemetery or the direction I approach the graves. The denominations use candles, shout and burn incense, use quartets, solos, testify and play the organ. Paul said, "Let a man examine himself and so let him eat." May God have mercy on us if we have to have some artificial form to stir our memories. G.K. Wallace

From the pen of JOHN HOBBS.... | |
A TALE OF TWO MEN Several years ago, I preached for a church where "Clem" and "Eddie" attended. Clem and Eddie and I disagreed many times on the decisions of the church to promote the work and worship of the church. However, there was a great difference between Clem and Eddie. Clem was a worker. He was involved with the visitation program, helped with our evangelistic outreach program, and whenever a workday was called on Saturday, Clem was always there. Clem was also a big financial contributor. Eddie, on the other hand, did nothing. He was never on one committee and was never involved in any program of the church. All he wanted to do was come to the business meetings and gripe and complain. He wanted things done his way and became very upset when things did not go his way. I am sure it will not surprise anyone when I say that I had respect for Clem but none for Eddie. Even though Clem and I disagreed many times, I had tremendous respect for him. However, for Eddie I had absolutely no respect. Clem was a worker and involved. Eddie was not a worker and was not involved. Do you agree with me? I am sure you do! The question we all need to ask is: "Are we a Clem or an Eddie?" I believe the elders should listen to people like Clem but not to people like Eddie. Do you agree? May God bless and Keep you. In Christian Love,
