October 27 - FALL BACK. Daylight savings time ends. Run your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night, and enjoy the extra hour of sleep! Thelma Wiley, a member here for a number of years passed away Monday October 7, and was buried Wednesday October 9 in Ballinger, Texas. Since placing her membership here she has lived at the Myrtlewood Retirement Home. Our condolences to the family of Thelma Wiley

Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross
Fanny Crosby was a blind song writer who
wrote many, many songs. A lot of those songs are in our
hymnbook. One of my favorites is, "Jesus keep me
near the cross." When we sing this song, we should
"sing with the understanding." (I cor. 14:15)
In other words, we should sing thinking about the words
we are singing. It is the words that build us up and make
us strong. Notice in this song Crosby wrote, "Help
me walk from day to day with it's shadow o'er me."
How true!! The cross of Christ should be on our minds
every day that we live -- not just on Sunday morning when
we partake of the Lord's supper. The cross becomes the
main reason for everything that we do. In Christian Love,
