What is a Teacher?

  A teacher is one who:

  • Affect the eternity of other.
  • Helps another learn.
  • Imparts his/ her knowledge to others.
  • Inspires others.
  • Guides others.
  • Corrects others.
  • Is more important to the teaching/learning process than the method, the setting, or the visuals.
  • Is the product of conscientious labor.
  • Is ninety percent of the curriculum.
  • Is a sculptor of souls.
  • God's ambassador on earth (II Corinthians 5:20).

THANK YOU

During a time like this we realize how much our friends mean to us. Your kind expressions of sympathy will always be remembered.
                /S/The Family of Martha Duncan

This congregation has sent $500.00 to Medina Home to help defray the expense of repairing damage caused by the recent floods. Photos of some of the damage are posted on the bulletin board.
They have requested LASGNE NOODLES, or other item(s) on the list which is posted on the bulletin board. Their truck will be here during the week of August 5 - 9.

Our final "Mexico" tally is $1552.00. Much can, and will, be done with these funds. We need to continue to pray for the success of this endeavor.

NOTICE

It was announced in an earlier bulletin that beginning in August The Biblical Messenger would be put in the mail on Thursday with a delivery on Friday or Saturday.
After further study and consideration, it is believed to be more advantageous to leave the preparation and delivery dates as they are. So disregard the earlier notice.

Thank You.

From the pen of JOHN HOBBS....

FIVE IMPORTANT PROGRAMS OF NINTH AND MAIN

  1. BIBLE CLASS: Our Bible class program is vital to our existence. We must teach the word of God? We must read, study and understand the Bible. Jesus went to study the scriptures every week, "as His custom was". (Luke 4:16). If we are going to follow His example (1Peter 2:21), we are interested in being a teacher, a co-teacher or substitute teacher, please-please-please contact the elde5rs. You are needed.

  2. VISITATION: Beginning in September we will initiate our visitation program. Any member who would like to participate is encouraged to become involved. We are only asking that "one visit per month" be made. This is certainly not an unreasonable request. Anyone wishing to make more visits are encouraged to do so. We will have a short organizational meeting after evening services on August 25.

  3. POT-LUCK SUNDAY: Six times per year we have a pot-luck meal after our morning services. This is not just a chance to eat. It is also a great opportunity to invite someone to visit us. When other people see the love, unity and harmony that exists in our fellowship, it opens the door of their hearts to plant the seed of the kingdom. (Luke 8:11).

  4. BIBLE CORRESPONDENCE COURSES: When we send out BCC's we are taking the Gospel to the world as Jesus commanded. (Mark 16:15-16) When we give as we have been prospered and the money is used to buy BCC supplies, we are being obedient to the Great Commission. Remember, "how" we do it is left up to us. The main point is that we obey the Lord.

  5. HOME BIBLE STUDIES: Certainly, one of the most important aspects is teaching the Bible "one on one". I have been preaching 37 years and I realize that home Bible studies come in waves. There may be a period of drought and then a flood. However, we must be ready and there when the need arises.

In Christian Love,
