What People Out of Christ do not Have
The bible repeatedly emphasizes
the importance of being "In Christ".
- Outside of Christ there are no children of God (Gal. 3:24-27)
- Outside of Christ there is no redemption (Eph. 1:7)
- Outside of Christ there is no forgiveness (Col. 1:13-14).
- Outside of Christ there is no eternal life(I John 5:11-13).
- Outside of Christ there is no acceptable fruit-bearing (John 16:1-)
- Outside of Christ there is no grace (II Tim. 2:1).
- Outside of Christ there is no new life (Rom. 6:1-4; II Cor. 5:17)
- Outside of Christ there is no freedom from condemnation (Rom. 8:1).
- Outside of Christ there is no preparation for death (Rev. 14:13; I Thess. 4:13-18)
- Outside of Christ there is no completeness (Col. 2:10)
- Outside of Christ there is no salvation (Acts 4;12; II Tim. 2:10)
- Outside of Christ there is no light (Eph. 5:8)

From
the pen of John Hobbs: |
What Did You Preach
Sunday?
It has often been said, "We are either a blessing or a blot, but never a blank." How true! We are either helping people or hurting them. When we go to services on Sunday, all of us--not just the preacher, are preaching the word.
When we arise on Sunday morning and get dressed for services, we are preaching that God's will is the most important thing in our lives (Matt. 6:33; John 14:15-24; Heb. 10:25). When we attend Bible classes on Sunday morning, we preach to those about us the desire we have to grow as Christians (Heb. 5:12; I Peter 2:2; II Peter 3:18). When we arrive on time for class and worship hour, we preach to others that we take seriously the opportunity to come before God (John 4:23-24; Luke 14:26-33).
When we cheerfully greet visitors, we preach our concern for them and the command to love all people (Romans 13:10; Eph. 4:15; Matt. 22:39).
When we participate properly in the various acts of worship, we preach to others our seriousness and desire to obey God's commands of worship in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).
Our individual sermons do not end on one Sunday. We continue to preach every day as we live the Christian Life. What we say, what we do, what we think, how we live should radiate how Christ lived (I Peter 2:21).
The preacher is not the only one who preaches. True? True!
May God help each and every one of us to live the Christian Live! We are all preaching the word. Some of the best sermons ever preached are the ones not preached from the pulpit. We can be a blessing if we live as God wants us to.
In
Christian Love,
John Hobbs
