Is
Preaching Against Homosexuality Going To Be A Crime?
In
Sweden, they passed a law to criminalize opposition to
homosexuality. If this law is approved in Texas, it would
be a crime to preach Romans 1:24-28 and I Corinthians 6:9-11.

Susan Jones of CNSNews.com reports that the Pennsylvania
Legislature recently passed a bill to amend the state's
Ethnic Intimidation Act. The Act now includes "sexual
orientation, gender or gender identity." One pro-family
group fears the bill is too broad and will be enforced to
liberally. William Devlin, president of the Urban Family
Council, warns that if a visitor to church feels offended
or intimidated by what is said from the pulpit, the
preacher and leaders of the congregation might soon
receive certified letters inviting them to a deposition
or a court appearance. Devlin says that if preachers plan
to faithfully preach the Word, then they and the churches
for which they preach need to "obtain some very good
liability insurance and contact an attorney."
I
suppose we all knew it was coming. Now we simply wonder
when the rest of the states will adopt similar laws and
when it will finally become a federal crime to preach the
whole counsel of God. No matter, "we ought to obey
God rather than men" (Acts 5:29). (Unquote)
I
wonder of the next step will be to outlaw the Bible since
it condemns homosexuality?
God
said long ago, "Woe unto them that call good evil,
and evil--good" (Isaiah 5:20).
Let
us be prepared to stand for the truth.

PS: On June 9, 2003, I started my second
year at Ninth and Main. I appreciate the love and
kindness you have shown to me and my family. Let us all
work hard to help the church grow at Ninth and Main
church of Christ.
